Ihor Surkis: “We want to win every game no matter whom we oppose”

- Have Dynamo already left the toughest coronavirus period behind?

- It was extremely difficult period as we had 15 sick players and didn’t know what would happen the following day. Some were severely ill, some weren’t, but anyway it’s hard to recondition after this sickness. But this is our reality and I hope we’ve gone through this.

- Do Dynamo follow the Champions League plan?
- We want to win every game no matter whom we oppose. The team has motivational bonuses, besides every player wants to demonstrate what he’s capable of. But obviously so far we can’t compete with Barcelona or Juventus. Anyway, let’s not forget we didn’t feature in the Champions League for three seasons. The team is gaining experience. Maybe we’ll sign someone. I think next year we’ll oppose such teams more decently.

- Some say Shakhtar are weaker this season which is why Dynamo are UPL leaders. What do you think of that?

- I don’t think Shakhtar are weaker, comparing with the previous year. Besides, don’t forget they’ve also suffered from COVID-19. Anyway, maybe they haven’t got weaker, maybe we’ve got stronger?
- How does Lucescu cooperate with Harmash? Has Denys changed?

- I guess Harmash wants to play and Lucescu motivates him. Denys is experienced player and we need him when he’s fit enough. He’ll benefit us if he’s okay. We can’t oppose such teams as Juventus and Barcelona having only young players.
