FC Dynamo Kyiv centre back Illia Zabarnyi has shared his impressions of the 2021/2022 Champions League group stage drawing.
- We’ve got a very good group. It’s a great chance to demonstrate what we’re capable of and to prove we can perform on this level. I hope we’ll succeed.
- You faced Barcelona last season. Maybe you wanted another opponent for a change?
- Maybe it’s even good we’ll face Barcelona again as they’re one of the best teams in the world. As for me, the more often we oppose them, the better.
- Will you be more prepared this year, considering that the team gained Champions League experience last season?
- I guess so. Last year we opposed teams of the kind. Besides, many guys represented the national team at the Euro-2020. I think we’ll be more confident in the Champions League this time.
- Did players discuss which teams they wanted to face before the drawing?
- We did and there were different opinions. Some wanted weaker opponents, some wanted stronger.
- What were your preferences?
- I wanted to get a tough group with top clubs. That’s happened, so I’m satisfied.
