On Sunday, May 3, before start of the match between Dynamo and Shakhtar a symbolic kick-off was performed by a soldier of the Third Army Corps Yevhen Liakh.
Yevhen is the Chief of Staff of the “Fatum” Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade and is well known among “white-blue” supporters as one of the respected representatives of the fan movement. He has attended more than 50 away matches with Dynamo in various parts of the world.
He met the full-scale invasion while on a voyage in Asia, working as an officer on a merchant ship. Without hesitation he terminated his contract and returned to Ukraine to defend the country as part of the Defense Forces. After joining ranks of the Third Assault Brigade Yevhen personally eliminated more than two hundred enemy personnel and equipment units and was awarded state and brigade honors.
Following the corps reform he took the position of Chief of Staff of a battalion within the 60th Brigade. On March 19 his unit repelled a large-scale mechanized assault by the enemy in the Lyman direction, and Yevhen played an important role in that operation.
For FC Dynamo Kyiv it is a great honor that such individuals are part of the Dynamo family — an example of strength, courage and unwavering dedication to Ukraine.
