History and facts: Porto vs Dynamo

Previous meetings
• The teams have met on seven occasions, all in the European Cup, and were twice paired in the group stage in recent seasons. They each won away in 2008/09, before Porto prevailed 3-2 at home and drew 0-0 away in 2012/13.

• The lineups at Estádio do Dragão on 24 October 2012 were:
Porto: Helton, Danilo, Maicon, Otamendi, Mangala, Fernando, James Rodríguez (Miguel Lopes 90+2), Lucho González, João Moutinho (Defour 75), Varela (Atsu 64), Jackson Martínez. 
Dynamo: Shovkovskiy, Betão, Mikhalik, Khacheridi, Taiwo, Vukojević (Kranjčar 84), Yarmolenko, Garmash, Miguel Veloso, Gusev, Brown.

• Silvestre Varela scored in the 3-2 win, secured by Jackson Martínez's late goal, while Helton also remains in Porto's squad. Andriy Yarmolenko, Yevhen Khacheridi, Buyalskiy, Gusev, Denys Garmash and Niko Kranjčar are still at Dynamo.

• The 1986/87 semi-final was perhaps the teams' most significant tie. Porto won both legs 2-1 en route to claiming the trophy for the first time – they were also triumphant in 2003/04.

Porto
• Julen Lopetegui's men followed the draw in Kiev with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC and then took maximum points against Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (2-0 home, 3-1 away).

• They have only lost one of their 13 fixtures against Ukrainian sides – Dynamo's away win in 2008. Their overall record is W7 D5 L1 (W4 D1 L1 home).

• Porto won five and drew one of their six home games (including play-offs) in last season's competition, including a 6-0 defeat of FC BATE Borisov.

• They reached the quarter-finals, where they lost to FC Bayern München (winning 3-1 at home, losing 6-1 away), and are unbeaten in their last 12 European home matches (W9 D3).

Dynamo
• On matchday two, the White-Blues won 2-0 away to Maccabi and in the double-header against Chelsea drew 0-0 at home and lost 2-1 away.

• Dynamo have five points, two behind Chelsea and another three behind Porto.

• The win in Israel was Dynamo's first in eight away games in the competition proper – home and away they have recorded only five victories in 35 group stage encounters.

• They have played 17 games against Portuguese sides with the record W5 D4 L8 (W2 D1 L5 in Portugal).

Coach and player links
• Antunes twice faced Porto in 2006/07 while with FC Paços de Ferreira and scored against Helton in a 1-1 draw.

• Miguel Veloso played against Porto on ten occasions while with Sporting Clube de Portugal, scoring past Helton in a 3-0 win in 2009/10.
