Carlos de Pena: “It takes from 25 to 36 hours to get to Uruguay”

We’ve asked our Uruguayan halfback Carlos de Pena about his vacation:

- I’ve spent my vacation in Uruguay. It’s summer there. I’ve visited my family and friends. We had a plan for every day. The vacation was great, I enjoyed it a lot. Warm sunny weather was also awesome. We’ve also been to Brazil. So, I’ve had quite active vacation.

The only drawback is a long distance. It takes from 25 to 36 hours to get to Uruguay and it’s very exhausting. Besides, the time difference is five hours and the weather is completely different.

Now I’m happy to start training. I feel my body already needs exercise load although I exercised during vacation.

- How did you celebrate the New Year and Christmas? Are Uruguayan and Ukrainian traditions different?

- As far as now I’m married, I celebrate Christmas with my family and the New Year – with my wife’s family. As for me, that’s how it should be. At first we went to a farm. It’s a great place to have rest and celebrate. Speaking about the New Year, we were at the seaside. That was unforgettable too.
