Carlos Zambrano – Dynamo first Peruvian

Carlos was born in Callao – the biggest port city in Peru. The capital of the country Lima is only 14 km far from there.

In 2000, when Zambrano was 11, he joined the club called Academia Deportiva Cantolao.

In 2006 Carlos was spotted by FC Schalke 04 scouts. At the age of 16 he did well in U-17 World Cup qualifiers and moved to Germany. He got Schalke U-19 captain’s armband and in 2007 was included into the youth team players’ list. In a year he joined the first team.

Carlos had a contract with Schalke from 2008 till 2012, but made only 16 appearances within this period of time. He spent 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons performing for FC St. Pauli on loan.

In 2012 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt and became the first team regular. He made 101 appearances for the club within four seasons.

In 2016 Carlos left Germany and joined FC Rubin Kazan. He made 21 appearances in all competitions for the team. On September 1 2017 Zambrano went on loan move to PAOK FC. In January of 2018 he became FC Dynamo Kyiv player.

Carlos made his debut for the national team in 2008. At the moment he has 43 caps to his name (4 goals).

Zambrano is right-footed centre back, who can also perform as left lateral. He’s the first Peruvian in Dynamo history.
