Kyrylo Osypenko: “I am very happy to have returned to the pitch after a long break”

Dynamo midfielder Kyrylo Osypenko has recovered from a serious injury and returned to the pitch, scoring a goal and helping the team secure a 5-1 victory over Kudrivka in the UPL-2. After the match, the footballer shared his impressions of the game, spoke about the difficult period of recovery, and described his emotions at returning to football.

– How difficult was today's match? The team conceded first but eventually scored five goals and secured a convincing victory.

– Indeed, the game did not start very well for us. We conceded an unfortunate goal that could have been avoided. But after that, we regrouped, showed our game, and achieved the result we needed.

– This was your first match after a long break. What did you feel when you came onto the pitch again? You also scored a goal, and your celebration was very emotional…

– Of course, returning to the pitch was very important to me. These are incredibly pleasant emotions that are difficult to put into words. I missed a long period, so I am very happy that I was able to score and help the team. I want to thank the coaching staff for their trust, as well as my family and my girlfriend for their support and for being by my side during this difficult time for me. I am very happy that everything worked out this way.

– How difficult was this recovery period? How long have you been training with the main group?

– I have not been training with the main group for very long – about two weeks. In fact, it was a very difficult period, primarily psychologically. Probably one of the most difficult periods of my life. But, thank God, it is all behind me. I am grateful that everything worked out the way it did. I will continue working so that there will be as many joyful moments like today's as possible in my career.

– Finally, a few words about the UPL-2 tournament. How interesting is this format, in which players from the first teams also get match practice? How would you assess the level of the competition?

– Of course, the level is good; it is a good championship. There are players who get less playing time in the UPL, so they have the opportunity to play in the UPL-2.
