On Monday, February 9, Dynamo Kyiv played their fifth friendly match of the winter training camp in Turkey. Ihor Kostiuk’s side faced a familiar opponent, Kudrivka, who are making their debut season in the Ukrainian Premier League.
The match was played in the traditional format of two 45-minute halves.
The game began with an early goal. In the 4th minute Morozko intercepted the ball inside Dynamo’s penalty area and fired a shot past Morgun to give Kudrivka the lead.
Conceding did not unsettle Dynamo who immediately pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Yatsyk beat several opponents and was close to going one-on-one with the goalkeeper but Kudrivka's defender intervened at the last moment. A few minutes later Dynamo attack ended with a dangerous shot from Buialskii after a cross by Yatsyk but Karavashchenko made the save.
Towards the end of the first half Buialskii went down inside Kudrivka’s penalty area after a collision with Mamrosenko but the referee saw no foul in the episode.
The second half started with Dynamo controlling possession. The Kyiv side spent a lot of time near Kudrivka’s penalty area trying to find an opening in the defence.
One of those attacks led to the equalising goal. Mykhailenko was first to react after the ball was cleared following a cross from Redushko and struck from long range. The ball hit the post and went into the net to make it 1:1.
After scoring Dynamo did not slow down and continued to press. During this period both teams exchanged promising chances. Storchous found himself in a good shooting position but Ihnatenko saved his effort. Moments later Kudrivka defenders blocked shots from Yatsyk and Diallo.
Still the Senegalese winger managed to score in the 72nd minute. Diallo reacted quickest after a shot from Redushko and converted the rebound to put Dynamo ahead.
Soon after Dynamo had a chance to extend their lead. Buialskii delivered a dangerous free-kick but Tymchyk was just inches away from connecting. Almost immediately Zakharchenko had an opportunity from close range, aiming for the near post, but Kudrivka player blocked the shot and conceded a corner.
Near the end of the match Thiare tried to intercept the ball inside his own penalty area but committed a foul, giving Kudrivka a chance from the penalty spot. Storchous took the kick but failed to convert as Ihnatenko guessed the direction and made the save.
The final whistle confirmed a narrow 2:1 victory for Dynamo over Kudrivka. It should be noted that later the same day, at 16:00 Kyiv time, White-Blues were scheduled to play another friendly match against Georgian side Iberia 1999.
