Friendly match. Dynamo – Wieczysta – 4:2. Match report

On Sunday, June 28, Dynamo Kyiv played their third friendly match of the summer training camp in Austria. The opponent for Ihor Kostiuk's side was Polish club Wieczysta. By mutual agreement between the teams, the match consisted of four 30-minute periods.

As a reminder, in their previous two friendlies, White-Blues drew with Czech side Slavia and defeated Slovak club Žilina by a large margin.

The visitors showed from the opening minutes that they had no intention of sitting back in defense, and early in the match Lonwijk had to stop a potentially dangerous Wieczysta attack at the cost of a yellow card. Dańkowski and Semedo also had shots on goal, but both lacked accuracy. At the other end, Shaparenko struck the crossbar with an excellent effort from outside the penalty area, while Redushko found the back of the net but was ruled offside.

The deadlock was broken in the 30th minute. Ponomarenko, thanks to his individual skill, first beat a defender, then rounded the goalkeeper before finishing into the empty net to make it 1:0.

Dynamo also had excellent chances to double their lead during the second 30-minute period. The crossbar once again denied Pikhalyonok, while shortly afterward the goalkeeper tipped Shaparenko's effort onto the post. Ogundana was very active, first failing to convert a one-on-one opportunity, and then seeing both his shot and Shola's follow-up saved by the goalkeeper.

However, in the 52nd minute, the ball found the back of Dynamo's net. Piazón delivered a cross into the penalty area, and Feiertag headed accurately into the goal to level the score at 1:1.

Before the third 30-minute period, both teams completely changed their line-ups. Clear chances were initially few and far between, but in the 78th minute Wieczysta scored again. Kristensen fired toward the near post, and Olkhovyi made a mistake, allowing the ball to slip into the net for 1:2.

The White-Blues equalized early in the final 30-minute period. Husev, who had just entered the pitch, pressed the goalkeeper, who committed a foul. Brazhko confidently converted the penalty, sending the ball down the middle to make it 2:2.

Moments later, Wieczysta almost regained the lead when Bilovar accidentally redirected the ball toward his own goal, but Olkhovyi managed to reach it. Dynamo then took advantage of their opportunity. In the 106th minute, after a corner kick delivery, the defenders completely lost track of Brazhko, who finished from close range to make it 3:2.

Ihor Kostiuk's side did not stop there and added another goal. In the 111th minute, Voloshyn delivered an excellent low cross from the right flank, and Guerrero finished with a first-time touch to make it 4:2.

Brazhko had another chance with a long-range effort that went well wide, while Wieczysta also had an opportunity to reduce the deficit just before the final whistle. However, the score remained unchanged. Dynamo's next friendly match will take place on July 2 against Rapid Bucharest.
