Kravets may make his international debut

Ukraine coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko has named a 28-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2010 qualifier against England, which is scheduled to take place at London’s Wembley stadium on 1st April. The squad will be cut to 24 players and the final list of names will be announced after the next round of the Ukrainian championship.

Two players may make their international debuts in London as Dynamo Kyiv striker Artem Kravets and Metalist Kharkiv keeper Oleksandr Horyainov have both been called up. Meanwhile, Dynamo’s Andriy Nesmachnyy has announced his retirement from the national side. The 30-year-old defender has taken a decision to concentrate on club football and devote more time to his family.

Ukraine team squad:

Goalkeepers: Andriy Pyatov and Rustam Khudzhamov (both from Shakhtar Donetsk), Stanislav Bogush (Dynamo Kyiv), Oleksandr Horyainov (Metalist Kharkiv).

Defenders: Vitaliy Mandzyuk and Taras Mykhalyk (both from Dynamo), Andriy Rusol (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk), Dmytro Chyhrynskyy, Oleksandr Kucher and Vyacheslav Shevchuk (all from Shakhtar), Hryhoriy Yarmash (Vorskla Poltava).

Midfielders: Oleksandr Aliyev and Serhiy Kravchenko (both from Dynamo), Serhiy Valyayev and Valentyn Slyusar (both from Metalist), Oleksiy Hai (Shakhtar), Yevhen Levchenko (Groningen Netherlands), Maksym Kalynychenko, Serhiy Nazarenko and Ruslan Rotan (all from Dnipro), Anatoliy Tymoschuk (Zenit Russia).

Strikers: Andriy Voronin (Hertha Germany), Volodymyr Homenyuk (Dnipro), Marko Devic (Metalist), Artem Kravets and Artem Milevskyy (both from Dynamo), Yevhen Seleznyov (Shakhtar), Andriy Shevchenko (Milan Italy).
