On Tuesday, March 3, FC Dynamo Kyiv played their Ukrainian Cup quarterfinal match of the 2025/2026 season. The game took place at the Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi with First League side FC Inhulets Petrove as the opponents.
Head coach Ihor Kostyuk made significant rotations compared to the recent UPL match against Epitsentr. Only goalkeeper Neshcheret and left-back Vivcharenko kept their places in the starting lineup.
Dynamo dominated possession from the opening minutes and created several chances in the first half. Tymchyk and Ogundana tested the goalkeeper early on while Popov came close after a corner kick but the Inhulets keeper made an impressive save. Despite consistent pressure from hosts visitors defended bravely and teams went into halftime with the score still 0:0.
At the start of the second half Dynamo made two substitutions and soon after the break they found the opener. In the 50th minute, following a defensive mistake by Inhulets, Guerrero capitalized on a loose ball and struck accurately from 22 meters into the corner to make it 1:0.
Dynamo continued to control the match and push forward. Popov, Brazhko and others had chances to extend the lead but the second goal finally came in the 84th minute. Mykhailenko delivered a precise cross from the left and Pikhalonok won his duel in the box and finished from close range to seal the 2:0 victory.
The win sends Dynamo confidently into the semifinals with their next opponent to be determined after the remaining quarterfinal matches are played.
