On Wednesday, April 2, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the Ukrainian Cup quarterfinal – against FC Rukh Lviv away.
A few days ago the two sides faced each other in the UPL and the White-Blues succeeded 2:0. This time Dynamo gaffer made 10 substitutions in the starting lineup comparing with the previous game, including the debut of goalkeeper Valentyn Morhun.
Visitors had a great chance in the 3rd minute and Voloshyn appeared in a promising position, but sent the ball past the far post.
Brazhko missed a decent opportunity in the 37th minute as he obtained the ball in front of the box, but his shot lacked power. In a few minutes Kyivans were lucky as Kitela crossed to unmarked Klymchuk, who attempted with a header, but missed.
When it seemed the first half would be goalless, Dynamo opened the score. Guerrero passed to Pikhalionok, Oleksandr rushed forward, eluded the defender and hit the far corner – 0:1.
The second half started with more danger for home side. Voloshyn started a promising attack in the right wing, found Pikhalionok, who passed to Guerrero, but Eduardo sent the ball over the bar.
