Andriy’s father Leonid tells about his son:
- Actually Andriy was quite a good forward. He was fast. The first who spotted him was Volodymyr Zhuravchyk. He invited Andriy to FC Hazovyk Komarno. My son scored 9 goals in half a season. Later Zhuravchuk became FC Karpaty Lviv assistant coach and took Andriy with him. The head coach Myron Markevych gave Andriy a chance to play as striker, - told Leonid Husin Football 24.
- When Lobanovskyi saw Andriy he said: “That’s the guy I need”. In his team Andriy played as supporting midfielder.
