Europa League, matchday 3. Roma – Dynamo. Preview

On Thursday, October 24, FC Dynamo Kyiv will play the Europa League matchday 3 game against AS Roma away (kick-off – 19:45 Kyiv time).

EUROPA LEAGUE START

Neither of the two sides has won in this Europa League campaign so far. Dynamo suffered two defeats while Roma lost one game and played in a draw in another one.

2023/2024 SEASON

ROMA

- Roma finished sixth in the Serie A last season with 31 points behind champions Inter Milan. The Wolves won 18 games, lost 11 and drew 9 times (goal difference – 65:46).

As for the national Cup, Roma tumbled out in the quarterfinal as they suffered narrow defeat against Lazio (0:1).

DYNAMO

As for the Ukrainian Cup, Dynamo tumbled out in the round of 16 by losing against Obolon (0:1).

2024/2025 SEASON START

ROMA

Roma aren’t quite consistent early in the Serie A season. The Wolves won only two games out of eight, drew four times and lost twice. One should mention that Roma don’t really score a lot (only eight goal so far), but concede even less (six goals).

Roma are currently 10th in the league table with 10 points after eight matchdays. They’re nine points behind leaders – Napoli.

DYNAMO

Dynamo started current season with the Champions League qualification where they beat Serbian side Partizan (6:2 and 3:0), Rangers (1:1 and 2:0) after which lost against Salzburg in the play-off round (0:2 and 1:1).

As for the domestic league, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men are currently at the top of the table with eight wins and one draw in nine matches. They’re two points ahead of FC Oleksandria, who’re second.

The two sides have already faced each other in euro cups.

Roma gained revenge three years later as they grabbed two wins against Dynamo (2:0 in Rome and 4:1 in Kyiv).
