On October 6, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the 2022/2023 Europa League group stage matchday 3 game. The White-Blues faced Stade Rennais FC away.
The start of the game was quite dynamic. Rennais were mostly in possession and attempted on goal several times. Terrier shot from a promising position outside the box, but missed. Ukrainian side couldn’t extinguish home side attacking efforts.
As soon as Kyivans obtained the ball, opponents dispossessed them. Eventually Dubinchak lost possession, Rennais started fast attack, Gouiri found Terrier and the latter sent the ball into the far corner.
Halfway through the second time the situation on the field got more or less even. Dynamo did some good combinations, but didn’t really approach the goal. Still, in a while, after cross from the left wing and heel pass by Besedin, Buialskyi obtained the ball, found Tsyhankov and Viktor didn’t waste his opportunity.
Second half started with Rennais attacks too. This time Ugochukwu and Terrier could succeed, but at first the ball went over the bar and then Boiko saved his team. Later our keeper parried decent strike by Bourigeaud.
As for Dynamo, Kabayev attempted with a shot, but that wasn’t a problem for Mandanda. Generally Dynamo were doing well in the midfield, but lacked the final pass and accurate strike.
Meanwhile Rennais used their chance. Doue intercepted after Kyiv side defenders’ mistake, approached the goal and hit the near corner.
So, this is Dynamo third Europa League defeat in a row – 1:2.
