Lukman HARUNA: “Our common aim is to win with Dynamo”

Lukman has mentioned that two years have raced by.

- Lukman, how can you estimate your physical conditions? Are you ready for the new season?

- First of all I’m thankful to God for every day of my life. At the moment I have good physical conditions. I have adapted to the team completely. I am happy to be here and I believe that this season will be a success for Dynamo.

- You played well in Uzhhorod, trying to score from distance several times. Did the coach tell you to use long-range shots?

- I often practice shots on target at our training sessions, but when I start shooting too often they tell me: “Haruna don’t hurry, every shot must be well-placed!”. That’s why if my teammate is in better position I pass the ball to him.

- According to the statistics you participated in 58 attacks as Dynamo faced FC Hoverla Uzhhorod. Do you prefer playing as attacking or supporting midfielder?

- My main aims are to win and to be among first eleven. That’s why I work hard at training sessions. Whatever my position is I do my best. I want to play and to prove that I’m worth being the part of this team.

- You have demonstrated good mutual understanding with Mbokani in Uzhhorod. Was it easy for you find common ground?

- Of course it was, as I played for AS Monaco FC together with Dieumerci. We both speak French. It helps a lot. We have real mutual understanding.

- What can you tell about Dynamo newcomers? Are you already on friendly terms with them?

- Sure, I am! I know Belhanda as we both played in Ligue 1. These guys are like brothers for me as we all want to achieve success with our team. That’s why we are here. I’m glad to help newcomers to forge friendship with other players. Friendly atmosphere is very important. We are one team and our common aim is to win with Dynamo.

- Do you help new players to adapt to life in Ukraine?

- Yes, as I have been living here for two years already. I’m proud and happy to play for Dynamo. Anyway two years have raced by. It’s difficult for a foreigner to get used to life in a new country. Never the less I’ve managed to do it. Now I can share my experience with newcomers.

- You faced Tremoulinas and Belhanda playing in Ligue 1. Do you remember those games?

- I remember that I scored brace for Monaco as we faced Belhanda’s team (Montpelier HSC). Those were my first goals in France. The game against Girondins de Bordeaux was also good. In general I faced Tramoulinas’ side three or four times. Both Belhanda and Tremoulinas are good players, but they need some time for adaptation.

- Could you imagine that you would play for the same team?

- If somebody told me that we would play for the same team at that time, I wouldn’t have believed it. Anyway I’m glad that we have met here. It was a great piece of news for me that Dynamo signed these players. Now we have a very good team. We must struggle for Premiership this season. It’s all in our hands.

- Have newcomers enforced the team? Can Dynamo win the Ukrainian Premier League?

- Everything is possible! At the moment we are in good physical and psychological conditions. If we focus on football, we’ll have chances to win the UPL. We must do our best not to lose a single point. We want to win all the time. Of course it won’t be easy, but we must do our best in every game.

- What is the main difference between UPL and Ligue 1?

- French league is a very good one. Many Africans play there. As I played for AS Monaco a lot of attention was paid to physical conditions. The main problem of Ukrainian Premier League is bad refereeing.

- Dynamo will face FC Sevastopol within the UPL matchday 3. What can you tell about this team? Did you watch their game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk?

- I know little about this team. Of course we’ll analyze their play and our coaches will point out their strengths and weakness.

- Several Shakhtar Donetsk players are on loan in FC Sevastopol. Don’t you think they’ll have extra motivation as they face Dynamo Kyiv?

- Frankly speaking I don’t care whether Shakhtar Donetsk players are on loan in FC Sevastopol or not. My task is to take the field and to win. If the head coach pays special attention to some players, we’ll do what he tells us to.

- A bit more than in a week Dynamo Kyiv will face Shakhtar Donetsk. Are you looking forward for this game?

- We’ll be completely ready for the game against Shakhtar. I’ll do my best to help my team win. Refereeing will play a great role. Anyway at the moment we must focus on the forthcoming match against FC Sevastopol. Win will give us extra motivation.
