Dynamo Kyiv defender spoke to journalists in mixed zone after the Round 29 Ukrainian Premier League match against FC Poltava which ended in a 2:0 victory for Dynamo.
— I’m happy that we won today. At the same time I can’t be fully satisfied with my own performance. It felt like I ran well and won the ball back but the quality was lacking.
— In the first-round meeting Dynamo suffered a disappointing defeat to Poltava. Did the team come into today’s game with the mindset that losing was simply not an option?
— We are Dynamo and defeats are unacceptable for us. After losing the first-round match we had something to prove.
— Dynamo rotated the squad today. In particular your youth-team teammates Viacheslav Surkis and Vitalii Lobko made their first starts for the senior side. How did you help them prepare for this moment?
— I didn’t give them too much advices because they already knew what to do. I just remembered my own debut and told them not to be afraid or nervous, that everything would be fine.
— In a few days Dynamo will play the Ukrainian Cup final against Chernihiv. What are your expectations for that match?
— We will approach the game fully focused because it is a huge opportunity. Everyone is treating the final very seriously.
