FC Dynamo Kyiv faced the Swiss side FC Luzern in another friendly at the training camp, where the White-Blues are getting ready for the new season. Kyivans used to oppose Luzern a bunch of times before. Actually this was the fifth friendly between the two sides in nine years.
This “Play for Peace. Stop the War” charity game took place in the town of Emmen. Comparing with the match against Young Boys, Dynamo starting lineup practically didn’t change. Only Dubinchak replaced Karavayev.
The game started in a quite calm manner. Later Buialskyi attempted from the right wing of the box, but his shot was blocked. Swiss side mostly counted on counterattacks.
In a while Luzern keeper fouled against Besedin and referee awarded penalty. Tsyhankov converted from the spot confidently. In a few minutes, Verbic obtained the ball, rushed forward and used his opportunity by hitting the target from inside the penalty area – 2:0.
As for Luzern, they had a great chance as Ardaiz attempted from close range after pass from Abubakar, but Bushchan demonstrated great reaction and parried the strike.
Swill side started the second half more aggressively. Within 10 minutes they took three corners and unleashed two dangerous strikes Bushchan coped with.
Afterwards Luzern applied pressure trying not to let Dynamo attack. Tsyhankov and Karavayev could succeed, but Viktor didn’t manage to elude the defender, while Olexandr’s shot was parried by the keeper. Eventually Luzern used their opportunity. They intercepted the ball and found Emini, who pulled one back.
Right after that Sorgic had a chance to equalize, but missed the target somehow.
So, it’s 2:1 for Dynamo. On Sunday the team will leave for Lyon to play the next friendly on July 12.
