Dynamo forward Matvii Ponomarenko shared his impressions of Monday’s training session, two days off and the team’s overall preparation for the second part of the season:
- We had two days off so I managed to recover a bit, relax, rest and get some sleep because during the training camp we wake up early - at 8:00 in the morning. Now, with renewed energy, we’ll continue preparing for the second microcycle and the second part of the season.
- Tell us more about today’s training session which started in the gym and continued on the pitch.
- I have very good impressions from the trainingю I feel great because I had a rest. We entered the new microcycle with fresh energy so I think everyone feels good and is in a positive mood. Today we started in the gym because after a break it was important to do functional work and core muscle exercises. Then we went out onto the pitch, worked on passing, ball possession with specific tasks - in short we did some good work. At the end of the session we ran a bit to build up mileage and get a solid physical load.
- Can this training session be called the most intense one so far?
- Probably yes because, as I mentioned, we finished with running which we hadn’t done before. So yes, if you look at it as a whole, it was the most intense session.
- What is the team’s physical condition like at the moment?
- It’s already quite good. We’ve been doing running tests from the very beginning so in general the team is ready. But we still have two weeks to fully prepare for the resumption of the championship. During this time we’ll work hard - training twice a day plus friendly matches. We’ll reach optimal condition and hopefully be in great shape.
- Are you satisfied with your own form?
- About 70 percent because there’s still room to improve.
