Dynamo's forward Matviy Ponomarenko has once again topped the ranking of the best young Ukrainian footballers born in 2005–2006, compiled by the Zolotyi Talant project.
The best young player of August was determined following a poll of 133 experts. In 2026 the U21 age category includes footballers born in 2005–2006.
In August Ponomarenko, who is Dynamo's top scorer, scored three winning goals — against Qarabag in European competition, as well as Veres and Kolos in the national championship.
The young Dynamo forward continues to maintain a high standard after his breakthrough 2025/26 season. As a reminder, Matviy was named the best player in the U19 category in 2025, also won the UPL scoring race and was recognized as the best young footballer of the 2025/26 UPL season.
Another Dynamo player Taras Mykhavko also made the top 20 young players in the U21 category for August, finishing fourth.
