Forward Matviy Ponomarenko signed a new contract with Dynamo Kyiv. The new agreement will be valid for five years.
Matviy has been in the Dynamo structure since the age of seven. Thanks to his successful performances at the youth level, he attracted the attention of the first-team coaches, who began involving him in training sessions. He made his debut for the main Dynamo team on November 3, 2023, in the match of the 13th round of the UPL against Shakhtar.
Over the next few years, the forward combined appearances for the first team of the “white-and-blues” with extremely productive performances for the youth team.
The 2025/2026 season became a truly breakthrough one for Ponomarenko. Forward announced himself in the elite of Ukrainian football, winning the titles of the UPL top scorer and the best young player of the championship. He also received his debut call-up to the Ukraine national team and scored a goal in the World Cup 2026 qualifying play-off match against Sweden.
