This week the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) announced the symbolic team as well as the best coach and best player of Round 19 of the championship. As usual the selection process involved presenters, experts, commentators from UPL.TV and representatives of Ukraine’s leading sports media outlets.
Following the voting results Dynamo Kyiv forward Matvii Ponomarenko was included in the UPL Team of the Week for Round 19. He also finished second in the voting for the best player of the round.
Ponomarenko scored two goals that helped White-Blues defeat Polissia Zhytomyr (2:1). In addition Dynamo striker extended his scoring streak in the Ukrainian championship to five consecutive matches and increased his season tally to seven goals.
It is worth noting that Matvii Ponomarenko was also included in the UPL Team of the Week for Round 18 and was named the best player of that round.
