- I’m happy I’ve finally won the Ukrainian league with Dynamo. Our team used to lack behind Shakhtar and even other clubs. Still we moved towards our aim and eventually succeeded.
- For the first time you became champion at the age of 29. Isn’t that disappointing?
- Every player wants to be a champion. I used to win Portuguese cup which is also very prestigious. Now my collection is more impressive and I have motivation to achieve more.
- What helped Dynamo leave Shakhtar behind last season?
- We left behind not only Shakhtar, but also other good clubs. One shouldn’t underestimate them. We didn’t suffer a single defeat in the league. This fact demonstrates our strength. Each player had motivation.
- You started scoring this season. Is that because you have new position on the field?
- That’s right. I play closer to opponents’ goal and have more attacking opportunities. I used to play on this position in Portugal and Italy. It’s comfortable for me. To be fit I had to work a lot at the pre-season training camp. Today I feel great and I’m ready for the season.
- In summer you got transfer offers from Italy. Why did you stay in Dynamo?
- My contract is still valid and club direction decided not to let me go. I feel that this season can become one of the best in my career. It would be great to win the Ukrainian league again and please fans with our Champions League campaign.
