Mykola Mykhailenko: «The most important thing is that we kept a clean sheet»

Dynamo midfielder Mykola Mykhaylenko shared his impressions of the 16th round UPL match against Veres in which our team won 3:0.

- A 3:0 win in the last home match of 2025. How do you feel? It must feel great.

- Yes, if we look at today’s match. The win is exactly what we wanted and what we were aiming for. Of course results in the league leave a bit of a shadow but it’s fine, we’ll work hard and things will get better.

- Everyone could see the team’s energy, you came out strong from the first minute. Was the 3:0 score fair or should there have been more goals?

- Sometimes there were a lot of chances but we don’t manage to score. So it doesn’t matter. Today we scored three goals – thank God it turned out that way. If there had been more it would have been more.

The most important thing is that we kept a clean sheet. Of course the opponent had their chances but we played the match with more confidence.

- Dynamo finishes the year in 4th place in the UPL standings. Can you comment on this result?

- We finished where we finished. It’s not the position we’re aiming for but for now that’s where we are. There’s still half the season ahead so we’ll see how things go.

- Next you have a game against Noah in the Conference League and then the winter break. How do you plan to spend this break?

- With my family. We’ve had a lot of travels. Honestly I really want some simple quiet time at home, to be with my family. Just to stay home, not go anywhere and do nothing.

- Today’s game had a wintery vibe - the first snow fell. Did that add to the New Year’s mood?

- I don’t think it created a real New Year’s atmosphere. As we can see the pitch is in good condition thanks to those who work here despite the weather. I can only thank them that we have the opportunity to play in such weather on such a field.

And, of course, I want to thank all the fans who continue to support us despite our setbacks. I also want to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine and everyone who defending us.
