Dynamo midfielder Mykola Mykhailenko spoke to journalists after the Matchday 10 Ukrainian Premier League game against Kudrivka (3:1).
– You scored a spectacular goal. Could we say that this was your way of celebrating signing a new contract with the club?
– I always give my all, regardless of the circumstances. It was just a coincidence. I’m glad we managed to win today.
– How did you manage to connect with the ball so well and send it into the top corner?
– Actually, there was nothing special about it. It just turned out to be spectacular. It was a good opportunity to shoot, so I took the shot.
– It seemed that the match was very different before and after the break caused by the air raid alert. What was the reason for such a difference?
– It’s difficult to find an answer to that question straight away. Perhaps we lost a bit of energy, and not everything was going our way. The coaching staff will help us understand our mistakes.
– What are your impressions of working with the revamped coaching staff?
– We’ve had a few days to work together. I think there will be a lot of changes aimed at bringing us towards modern football. Today, our emotional state was important. We needed everyone to have a positive and fighting spirit. We came onto the pitch fully motivated, and that was what helped us win.
– Has anything changed within the team since the coaching staff was revamped?
– Of course, but everything happens gradually. First of all, we didn’t have much time. Secondly, you can’t change everything at once, because that might not work. I believe the coaching staff is taking the right approach to making adjustments.
– On Tuesday, Dynamo will face Shakhtar in the Ukrainian Cup Round of 16. How important is it to get a positive boost ahead of such a crucial match?
– Of course, it was important for us to win today to give ourselves a positive feeling and build confidence. That certainly won’t hurt us.
