FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the win against FC Obolon Kyiv (5:1).
- Congrats to all our supporters. It’s very important fans were at the stadium as we play for them. But i want to emphasize again that we can play only due to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We admire their courage.
Our internationals rejoined the club on October 15 while Ukraine youth team players came back two days later. That’s why we mostly counted on performers who were in Kyiv this whole time.
Unfortunately Andrii Yarmolenko still has health issues. Oleksandr Pikhalionok is recovering gradually. Brayan Ceballos will get back to work with the team soon.
- Were you getting ready for the game against Roma in a way, considering the substitution and tactics changes you introduced in the second half?
- We’ll start getting ready for Roma tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. They have their style that can change depending upon the opponent, but Dynamo always stay Dynamo, with our own principles.
- Vanat took the penalty today although Buialskyi was on the field. Was this your decision?
- I never interfere in that penalty thing. Guys can decide that themselves. But before the game I told Vladyslav I missed his goals and forgot when he scored last time. He thanked me and the team on the field (smiling).
- Was using Karavayev as a winger a forced measure? Are you going to keep doing that?
- We settled the lineup questions with regard to the qualities players have to complement each other on the field. Although Karavayev didn’t play a lot lately, he’s on the team. All 24 players and four goalkeepers we have are.
