He was born in Kyiv in a reputable family. Oleh Petrovych started his career in Kyiv Youth Football School. Later Bazilevitch was spotted by FC Dynamo Kyiv coaches. Still at first he played for the reserve team for more than two years.
Oleh Bazilevitch is the Soviet Top League winner (1961), runner-up (1960, 1965) and USSR Cup winner (1964).
Being 30 he decided to start coaching. In 1974 he became Dynamo Kyiv assistant coach and worked with Valeriy Lobanovskyi.
Bazilevitch has his own success formula for Ukrainian football. He is sure that the old Dynamo “system” is still up-to-date.
