- Today we had an experimental squad. Young players had a chance to demonstrate what they can. Some have used this chance, some have not.
- Did you like the game?
- There were positive moments. Still it’s rather difficult for young players to show their best at once.
- How can you characterize this season? What are your conclusions in general?
- This season was a failure as we didn’t manage to achieve our aim which was to secure the Champions League spot. After the winter break the team started playing better but still we lacked tactical and technical skills sometimes.
I think we have already initiated some changes but the team is still to be formed.
It should be also mentioned that sometimes players have problems with motivation, especially foreigners. It’s rather difficult to make a person understand your ideas communicating via interpreter. I think that the defeat against FC Girondins de Bordeaux had a negative impact on our psychological conditions. In the first half of the season we also lost against our main opponents in UPL – Shakhtar Donetsk, Metalist Kharkiv and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
In general we’ll work on reinforcement. I think that we have problems with technical skills.
I have already discussed some issues with our president. We must sign only those who are worth playing for Dynamo Kyiv.
I realize that I won’t be given much time to change the situation for better.
- Who’ll substitute Vincenzo Pincolini who leaves Dynamo?
- First of all I’d like to thank Pincolini for everything he’s done for Dynamo.
I think we’ll be able to find a substitution for him.
- Do you follow the work of Dynamo football Academy? Do you know any young talented players?
- I just don’t have time to follow 12-year-olds. I have information as for the reserve team.
- Can you name players who will leave Dynamo soon?
- I can’t answer this question yet.
- What are your plans for the summer break?
- On June 15 we’ll have a medical examination. Next day we are leaving for Austria to have a training camp. International players will join us a bit later, but no excuses will be acceptable from those who won’t come in time.
We also have players who are currently on loan and we are to decide who’ll return to Dynamo and who won’t.
I think we lack creative halfbacks and speed in the midfield.
- So Dynamo need a creative halfback?
- I think so, but at the moment I can’t tell which positions will be enforced.
- Is Taiwo leaving Dynamo?
- Wait a bit. I don’t want to tell anything in particular yet. We have enough players for two teams!
- Is Selin’s injury serious?
- I haven’t discussed that with doctors yet, but if the player is too relaxed he is likely to pick up an injury.
- What did you tell your players before the vacation?
- I said several words and so did our president. We asked players to realize that no one will forgive them for such a losing season again.
The main problem is that sometimes they played without dedication and didn’t do their best on the pitch.
