Olexandr Karavayev: “I’m ready to play in any position”

FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Olexandr Karavayev has told club media about the competition inside the team, importance of friendlies at training camps and the training process of the team.

- What do you think of the first week of the training camp?

- We get significant exercise load as we have two sessions a day. Those include gym, running exercises and work with the ball. You just need to endure the start, then things will get easier.

- Was the first week the hardest?

- It always is. Actually first days in Kyiv were tough as it was cold and we switched between natural and artificial turf. But we know what to do.

- Dynamo were criticized a lot after the first friendly against Rapid. What conclusions did you make after that game?

- We always aim to succeed no matter whether it’s a friendly or not. We don’t have a right to lose like this. Of course it was tough as we’re getting serious exercise load, but following games will be different.

- Rapid have been training for two months while for our team it was the fourth training day…

- I remember that last year, when we were finishing the training camp, we played against the team that just started it. That was much easier as we were ready. On one hand, it was good to face such a good and motivated opponent as Rapid. On the other – it was quite difficult.

- Now that Viktor Tsyhankov has left, there’s fierce competition in Dynamo right flank…

- It doesn’t matter to me where I play, I just want to benefit the team. I’ve been playing in different positions in Dynamo and I hope I’m useful.
