The midfielder of Dynamo Kyiv Oleksandr Pikhalonok spoke on the Football Hub after the 3:0 Ukrainian Cup semi-final win over Bukovyna Chernivtsi.
— Was Dynamo’s first goal the key moment of the match?
— Of course, when you score first, the opponent is forced to open up. It seemed to me that Bukovyna sat deep at the beginning which made it quite difficult for us to break through their defense. After we scored they made complaints: they said we should have put the ball out. But they themselves didn’t clear it, even though they had enough time to stop the play that way. It even looked like a throw-in was in their favor. In my opinion Dynamo scored a goal according to the rules.
— How important is the Ukrainian Cup for Dynamo?
— Very important! Our goal is to win the trophy. But in the championship we also need to go out and play for victory in every match, and only at the end we will look at the table. Of course we want to finish the season as high as possible.
— How did it feel to play in such an atmosphere? It’s rare to see so many fans in Ukraine these days.
— It’s very nice to play in such conditions. Ternopil always has a great atmosphere and it’s a pleasure to play here. Yes, many fans were supporting against us but it still didn’t spoil the football celebration.
