Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko was named Ukraine’s new head coach at the UFF executive committee meeting Friday, Jan 11.
Before taking up the country’s top job, Mykhaylychenko had led the junior national team. His highest accomplishment during the three-year tenure was steering his team to the silver medals at the European U-21 Championship.
The former FC Dynamo head coach (2002-2004) is to take charge of his first match Feb 6, when Ukrainians play away to Cyprus.
