Under Lobanovskyi’s guidance FC Dynamo Kyiv won the Cup Winners’ Cup (1975 and 1986) and UEFA Super Cup (1975).
They triumphed in the Soviet Top League eight times and in the USSR Cup six times. As Ukraine became independent Kyivans won the domestic league five times and became threefold national cup winners.
Football became a kind of religion for Ukrainians when Dynamo dethroned Russian clubs.
Valeriy Lobanovskyi was a person, whose presence made everyone better.
