Acting head coach of Dynamo U19 Pavlo Cherednichenko commented on the confident 4:0 home victory of “white-and-blues” against SC Poltava:
– This is a victory for our entire club, our whole Dynamo family. I am very grateful to the guys and above all to the entire medical staff, the coaching team and the administrative personnel. This is our shared victory. It is a continuation of our work with Ihor Kostyuk. This style, this game, this victory – they are ours.
– The team scored three goals in the first few minutes and another one in the second half. Can we say the victory came easily?
– Guys executed the game plan. We instructed them to start as actively as possible from the opening minutes and to take responsibility for their roles. The boys came into the match with great inspiration and followed the instructions of our coaching staff. I am grateful to them for listening and carrying out their tasks extremely well. Three quick goals are the result of their work.
– You have long worked with the team as a fitness coach. Now, as acting head coach, was it easier for the players to adapt since they already know your demands? Any difficulties?
– All our players are professionals. Our entire coaching staff are professionals as well so everyone knows their duties. The most important thing is to fulfill them and show responsibility every day, in every training session and every match.
– SC Poltava sits in last place in the standings. Was there any risk of underestimating the opponent?
– We prepare for every opponent with maximum seriousness and respect each team. We conduct theoretical analysis in which we study and break down the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. So there was no underestimation. Only maximum focus, maximum result and full commitment from the first to the last second. Players who come on as substitutes must use their time efficiently – that time is their opportunity to progress.
– Tell us more about your coaching staff. You are the head coach and goalkeeper coach Oleksandr Moroz is also with the team. Will anyone else be assisting you? Managing the team with just two people must be difficult?
– For now this is our coaching tandem and we also maintain communication with the head coach of the first team. We receive his advice and guidance on the direction we should follow and how to act. Together we take steps aimed at achieving results. As for who may join the coaching staff – this question is still under review. There will be negotiations with candidates and I think it will be decided soon. Our next match is a league game against Kudrivka followed by the this year's last game – away against Scotland’s Hibernian, in UEFA Youth League. In this tandem we are preparing for the upcoming matches.
– Ihor Kostyuk watched the match from the stands. Did he assist in the match preparation? Did he give advices during the game or visit the dressing room? What is his involvement with the team now?
– We have a good relationship with Ihor Volodymyrovych. We discussed the match, the starting lineup, substitutions – all aspects of the game. Guys also hear the head coach and feel his influence. They see him in the stands, watching them and the match. Every U19 player has the potential to join the first team. This right must be earned through trainings and by using their playing minutes as effectively as possible. The head coach is interested in the development and growth of U19 players both as professionals and as individuals so that they can move to the first team in the near future.
Therefore we maintain constant dialogue with the head coach. He is interested in every player – their training, physical metrics, sensor data, running performance and more. We pass all this information to the first team. And the head coach participates in determining who can be brought into the first-team training process.
