The coach of our team has shared his impressions of the contest:
- First of all it’s good we went abroad as last year we didn’t take part in such tournaments. Such contests increase motivation and willingness to fight for the trophy. Salou is a small town 80 km far from Barcelona. Still the Nordic Challenge Trophy was arranged by Swedish football federation. Participants represented Ireland, Serbia, Japan, Denmark… I can name three best teams: Russian Krasnodar, Swedish Hammarby and us.
In the semifinal we faced Krasnodar. They played defensively. In the first half we didn’t use four one-on-one situations. Eventually we won on penalties.
Hammarby played very orderly in the final. They scored after our defender’s mistake, we equalized, but they hit the target again by the final whistle.
