He was one of the best Ukrainian players of his generation. From 1965 till 1972 Khmelnytskyi made over 200 appearances for Dynamo, won the Soviet Top League four times and USSR Cup once.
Vitaliy Khmelnytskyi also used to work at Dynamo football school as youth coach and as a scout of the club. There’re many successful players among his trainees.
