In September the Ukraine U21 national team will hold a training camp and play a group stage match as part of the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification. This will be the team’s opening match in the campaign to reach the final stage of the continental tournament. The Blue and Yellows will face Lithuania on September 5 in the city of Druskininkai, at the LFF Druskininkai Stadium.
Ukraine U21 head coach Unai Melgosa has announced the list of players called up to prepare for the opening qualifier of the Euro 2027 U21 tournament, which includes two Dynamo Kyiv players: striker Matvii Ponomarenko and midfielder Roman Salenko, who is currently playing on loan for Zorya Luhansk this season.
It’s worth noting that the final tournament of Euro 2027 (U21) will feature 16 teams: Albania, Serbia and 14 other teams that will qualify through the group stage. The tournament is planned to be held at four stadiums across Albania and Serbia.
Additionally the results of Euro 2027 (U21) will determine the UEFA representatives for the 2028 Olympic Games.
