The first club was founded as Football Club Maritsa in 1921. Bulgarian side was named Lyubimets in 1960th. In 1992/93 season the team was disembodied. It was reformed in 2007.
In 2013 Lyubimets qualified for Bulgarian A Football Group.
The head coach of the team is Voyn Voynov. He took charge of the club on January 9 2014.
At the moment Lyubimets are 12th in A Group standings.
FC Dynamo Kyiv will face FC Lyubimets 2007 on February 16 at 17:00 (Kyiv time).
