History

In 1948, they formed a team in Oleksandria that was called Shakhtar. They featured in USSR lower leagues for quite a while. The team performed in class B for nine years.

In early 1990s, after Shakhtar were disbanded, FC Polihraftekhnika took up the initiative. In 1991, the team won amateurs group stage competition and then finished third in the final contest in Mariupol. In professional football, Polihraftekhnika hit the podium in Ukrainian First and Second leagues numerous times.

On July 1 2014, PFC Oleksandria and PFC UkrAhroKom merged and since then FC Oleksandria represent the town. The top achievement of the team is 2018/2019 UPL bronze.

Oleksandria represented Ukraine in euro cups three times. In 2019/2022 season they reached the Europa League group stage and finished fourth opposing Wolfsburg, Gent and Saint-Etienne.

2021/2022 season state of affairs

Due to the reconstruction of the turf at their home ground, Oleksandria had to play six starting games of the season away. Yuriy Hura’s men are doing a good job. They’ve defeated euro cups clubs FC Zoria Luhansk (1:0), FC Shakhtar Donetsk (2:1) and FC Kolos Kovalivka (1:0). They’re third in the league table after 7 matchdays with 14 points.
