Only four days before the season start Stal found out they would perform in the UPL instead of FC Metalurh Donetsk.
All three newcomers Dynamo signed this summer were in the starting lineup.
Home side opened the score early in the game. Stal took a corner, Ishchenko unleashed a header, the ball touched Miguel’s foot and crossed the goal line.
The White-Blues attacked using all their power while Dniprodzerzhynsk side totally focused on defense. A minute before the break Bandura cleared Yarmolenko’s shot, but Buialskyi hit the open goal!
52 minutes into the game Danilo Silva put a cross into the box, Ishchenko handled the ball and referee awarded penalty. After that Ishchenko got too emotional and was sent off. Eventually Oleh Husiev converted from the spot.
Still nine minutes later Danilo Silva kicked his opponent on the face struggling for the ball and also got the red card.
The final score of the game is 2:1. In a week Kyivans will face FC Olimpik Donetsk.
