The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered questions from the media following the 1:1 draw against Zorya Luhansk held at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium.
- For several matches in a row the substitutions made at the end of the game haven’t strengthened the team’s play. Why is that happening?
- With substitutions we try to slightly change the pattern of the game and add confidence in certain areas. Some players are already «spent», they’ve run a lot and are at their limit. We have a very tight schedule and every player who comes on as a substitute must improve the game.
- Have you lost confidence that the team will soon be able to end this run of draws?
- We’re constantly working on that - both psychologically and physically. You can’t say the team wasn’t physically ready for the match. The issue is that we’re not making the most of chances we create. We need to be calmer in the finishing phase. We create enough opportunities to feel more confident and composed toward the end of the game. But as it stands, for the fifth match in a row, we’ve conceded unnecessary goals after the 85th minute.
