Press conference of Julian Nagelsmann before the game against Dynamo

FC Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann took part in the press conference before the Champions League group stage matchday 2 game against FC Dynamo Kyiv.

On match goal

- Our goal is the same – to gain three points. We want to be on the top of the table. Dynamo defend very low and we want to create pressure. It’s important to avoid Kyiv side counterattacks. To win the Champions League, we must win as many games as possible. We want that.

On Dynamo analysis

- You should distinguish between what coach does and what players do after that. My goal is to know as much about opponents as possible. It’s all about details. Dynamo are the much fancied side in most domestic league matches. They have young talented team and Viktor Tsyhankov is a very sought-after player. In such games as Super Cup or against Benfica, Kyiv side don’t aim for possession. Dynamo often defend very low. I believe in my team, but I want to know everything about our opponents.

On Gnabry, Kimmich and Süle

- I already know Serge a bit as we used to work in Hoffenheim together. I give him free leeway. He’s a kind of player, who needs that and doesn’t need to think too much. I expect him to bring some street football to the field. Still some tactical formation gives him stability. He has outstanding qualities. Gnabry is fast. He used to have a lot of injuries, but he’s a true professional. Gnabry is very important to me.

Kimmich will definitely play. He needs to add quality to our football.

I’ve known Süle since young age. I know his potential and creative abilities. When you see great potential, I want player to demonstrate it on the field. Niki is doing a good job.

On almost complete lineup

- It’s important to have complete lineup as thus we have fierce competition. If everything is fine, everyone will be back to normal rhythm after international break.

On Kingsley Coman

- He’s fine and happy. Before the surgery, we decided we want him to recover in two weeks. He needs good foundation now. Yesterday and today he partially worked with us and looked pretty well. We want him to be 100 per cent ready.

On Davies

- In this case, the situation is different. A lot depends upon who plays alongside him. Coach’s task is to put players in positions, where they demonstrate their best qualities. I want our performers to be versatile in a way, including Davies.
