The President noted unique qualities of prominent coach Valeriy Lobanovskyi who combined “love to Ukraine and love to football” in himself. He recalled personal role of the coach in the creation of new unique school of global football. Due to his tremendous achievements Dynamo Kyiv glorified and promoted Ukraine in the world.
“He is alive as long as we remember him,” Petro Poroshenko said about Valeriy Lobanovskyi and called him an example of “true Ukrainian and true patriot”. The President recalled the role of Dynamo’s football fans who fought for European Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity.
Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the authors of the film and the whole crew for a marvelous documentary: “It is very important to show Ukrainians how strong our nation is, how strong our state is and what victories we had, have and will have”.
“Today, we need such films as never before – films about our state, our people, our teams, our victories and our unbroken spirit,” the President said.
The event was attended by Dynamo Kyiv leadership, football players of different generations, famous Ukrainians who made efforts to develop Dynamo, prominent cultural figures and fans of the club.
