The international break has come to an end which means the return of club football and, along with it, the resumption of the Ukrainian Premier League. Dynamo Kyiv will play their first league match after the break against Karpaty Lviv.
Two days before the match, on April 2, “White-Blues” held another training session at the club’s base in Vita-Lytovska. Warm spring weather has settled in Kyiv and its surroundings so the team continued their preparations in a positive mood. The session began in the gym where players prepared themselves for further physical work.
Soon the training moved to the football pitch where the team was first introduced to the club’s new Media Department Director Yurii Korzachenko.
After the introductory speech and greetings players carried out a warm-up on the pitch, focusing on running exercises. Meanwhile those Dynamo players who had been with the Ukrainian national team trained under a separate program. They returned to Kyiv late on Wednesday night and therefore required recovery after a long journey.
There is also positive squad news: defender Maksym Korobov has returned to the main group after recovering from injury. Another Dynamo defender Vladyslav Dubinchak is also training fully again after missing the start of the spring part of the season due to injury. He also took part in a recent friendly match against Polissia Zhytomyr (0:1).
After the warm-up outfield players worked on passing combinations under the supervision of Maciej Kędziorek. Players were divided into three teams and performed specific drills. Later a competitive element was added - teams had to finish their combinations by scoring into small goals. The winner was the team that reached 10 goals first.
Next players were split into two groups for an exercise focused on finishing attacks. Each group had to build attacks from opposite sides of the penalty area and beat the goalkeeper.
After working on finishing Dynamo played an internal scrimmage with each team assigned specific tactical tasks. Finally players completed individual work and fine-tuned their on-field actions.
It is worth reminding that the Matchday 22 fixture of the Ukrainian Premier League between Dynamo and Karpaty will take place on Saturday, April 4, at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium in Kyiv. Kick-off is at 18:00.
