Actually there were even no rumors about the possibility of 26-year-old Serbian player joining our club, so the fact that Petrovic signed a five-year contract with Dynamo was a surprise. Champions of Ukraine have got experienced performer, who used to feature in Serbia, England and Turkey and made forty-two appearances for Serbia national team.
Productive period alongside Gavrancic
At the age of 19 Radoslav was signed by one of the best Serbian clubs FK Partizan. He won the domestic title three times and the national cup twice with this team. By the way, he played alongside ex-Dynamo performer Goran Gavrancic
On August 12 2009 Petrovic made his debut for Serbia national team in the friendly against South Africa. The following summer he went to the World Cup!
Being Partizan leading player (20 goals in 107 matches) Radoslav was constantly followed by Western clubs. On July 24 2011 he signed a four-year contract with Blackburn Rovers FC.
Problems in England
During the first season Radoslav wasn’t the first team regular, but still made 19 appearances in Premier League. Anyway Blackburn relegated to Championship. Petrovic didn’t want to perform there and moved to Turkey, where he netted 10 goals in 84 matches for Gençlerbirliği. Still that wasn’t what he wanted.
Actually the desire to win trophies was the part of his motivation when he joined FC Dynamo Kyiv.
Making headway with Dynamo!
Only time will show whether Petrovic will succeed with Dynamo. His compatriots Goran Gavrancic and Milos Ninkovic did to some extent. Radoslav will make competition among Kyivans’ midfielders even tighter than it is. His strengths are head-playing, shots from distance and intransigence. Considering that next season Dynamo will take part in three competitions, the White-Blues will need such performer.
