Ruslan Neshcheret: «The medical staff is making every effort for my recovery»

Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret was forced to miss the opening part of the season due to an unpleasant injury. At the moment, the White-and-Blues goalkeeper is actively working on his recovery and his quickest possible return to match fitness.

In a comment to the official Dynamo website director of the club’s medical department Andriy Shmorhun spoke about the nature of Neshcheret’s injury: “Ruslan suffered a first-degree injury to the medial collateral ligament of the knee joint. The ligament was overstretched. At the same time as this injury, the goalkeeper developed bone edema. The recovery from the sprain has been completed, but treatment for the edema is still ongoing. The recovery period from such an injury is usually 4-6 weeks. Ruslan is already doing running work. We are planning for him to join the general group next week”.

Ruslan Neshcheret himself also spoke in more detail about the rehabilitation process: “Any injury is a test for the body and psychology. It is difficult to watch your teammates train and play, knowing that at that moment you are unable to help them in any way. However, I hope that the most difficult period is already behind me. I have started running and jumping work, I am working with the ball and performing special exercises for goalkeepers. Our medical staff is making every effort for my recovery. We expect that after the match against Zorya, I will be able to return to the general group”.
