Training camp in Kyiv: a week till season start

The White-Blues keep getting ready at their training complex. The team is mostly having two sessions a day, besides a lot of attention is being paid to theory.

Motivation from Lucescu

On Thursday, before the session, the team didn’t have a theory class indoors. Mircea Lucescu gathered players on the field and delivered a long motivational speech.

At first Mister reminded the team that there’s only a week left till the season start, so everyone must be focused on the forthcoming game. Coach praised players for good work at the training camp. Still there are a lot of aspects the White-Blues need to improve.

“The worst thing is indifference!”, – said Lucescu. “I don’t tolerate it. Player loses possession or passes to his teammate and stops... No way! You must always fight till the end. Dedication and self-sacrifice are very important. It’s not only about you, but about your teammates. If you fight for each other, everything will be fine”.

Coach also named certain aspects the team needs to work on and then told about plans for the training session.

Return of Harmash

Then the session itself started. It was mostly dedicated to game aspects – possession, passing etc. At first players practiced these elements is squares and then – on the bigger field.

Denys Harmash, who’s returned after loan move at Rizespor, worked with the team. Teammates were really glad to see him.

Traditionally the session finished with shots on target from outside the box. Goalkeepers performed some spectacular saves.

Injuries

Unfortunately the infirmary of the team isn’t empty yet. Denys Popov, who’s got muscle injury, works individually again.

Volodymyr Shepelev has been injured at the training session. On Thursday he started jogging.

Viktor Tsyhankov isn’t injured, but he can’t work in full swing due to muscle inflammation.

Benjamin Verbic keeps reconditioning after surgery. He’s very willing to rejoin the team, but the rehabilitation process isn’t over yet.
