The final whistle of Tuesday’s league match against Shakhtar Donetsk ended both the 2008/2009 season and the Yuriy Semin’s one-and-a-half year tenure in charge of Dynamo Kyiv.
Dynamo have played a total of 68 matches in five different tournaments under Russian coach. The team won the Ukrainian championship this season and finished with 15 more points then runners-up FC Shakhtar Donetsk. After taking the third place in the UEFA Champions League Group G, Dynamo progressed into the UEFA Cup knockout stage and then reached the semi-final.
