- How was your summer vacation?
- At first I spent a week in Turkey and then I went to Kharkiv to meet my family. After that I left for Kyiv and started training individually.
- You’ve mentioned that your career in Dynamo depends upon the White-Blues president a lot. Have you had a talk with Ihor Surkis? What has he told you about your horizons in the club?
- I’ve talked to Ihor Surkis. He always believed in me and stated that Dynamo need me. I’m thankful to him for support.
- What was the first training camp like? What were its main tasks?
- At the first training camp we worked with the ball a lot. There were many tactical exercises. We weren’t just running as we used to. Training sessions were interesting, I enjoyed them. We have good atmosphere in the team.
- What are the main duties of Raul Riancho and Serhiy Fedorov?
- Both Serhiy Rebrov and Raul can tell us about tactics. Raul wants players to create pressure all the time. Serhiy Fedorov works with defenders.
- Miguel Veloso and Ognjen Vukojevic are about to rejoin the team. Aren’t you afraid of losing the starting spot?
- I’m not. I’ll do my best to prove that I’m worth playing. It’s up to the head coach. I think I’ll have a chance.
- What was the period of your career you spent in FC Slovan Liberec like?
- It was a positive experience for me. I felt comfortable there. I got acquainted with many good people.
- What was your most memorable game for Slovan?
- I guess it was the match against Udinese. I scored away and we won the game.
- Serhiy, you come from Kharkiv. Did you ever have a desire to perform for FC Metalist? Did you get transfer offers from this team?
- There’s nothing to be said about that. Today I think only about Dynamo and I don’t even want to hear about other teams.
- Do you like Oleh Blokhin as coach and person?
- I didn’t work a lot under his charge. I don’t want to comment upon his personal qualities. Once he came to the training session and asked: “What’s going on? Why are Rybalka and Kalytvyntsev here?”. We answered that we are in the team, but he said: “Weren’t you told that you would work with reserve team?”. We said: “No, we weren’t. Cant we work with the main squad at least today?”. But he didn’t allow us. I was mad. Anyway I left the club rather soon, so I don’t know a lot about Blokhin’s personal qualities.
- When did you realize that football is your profession and not just hobby?
- I guess when I moved to Kharkiv from my village. Later I started featuring in Ukrainian Second League. My salary was about 200 dollars per month.
- Whom can you call you friend in Dynamo?
- My best friend is Denys Harmash. We communicate every day. Anyway I have good relations with all Ukrainians.
- What about foreigners?
- Everything is fine, we communicate normally.
- You’ve said you think only about Dynamo. Still in what league would you like to play?
- I like Bundesliga, because as we faced SC Freiburg there was a full house at the stadium even before the warm-up. Still today I want to feature only for Dynamo.
