- You are the first coach to win Ukrainian league both as player and as coach. Can you compare emotions you experienced back then with those you feel now?
- I think it’s much more difficult to win the title as coach. Being a gaffer you are in charge of lots of people – players and staff. You feel the responsibility as fans want victories. Of course this first success is important to me as coach. This is the desert of the whole team, but not just mine. I tried to use my experience, knowledge and heart. I guess players felt that. I’m glad we’ve won the league after so many years.
- You became the best coach in Ukraine last season. What does such recognition mean to you?
- It means I have a good team of like-minded people. We worked together and I’m glad our efforts help players on the field. No matter what we do it’s important whether performers listen to us and want to learn. I’m happy to see the fruits of our labor.
- After the end of last season you said: “I’ll never forget this season and first gold I’ve won as coach”. What are your expectations of current season?
- Actually I’ll remember every season as each of them contains part of my soul. It’s important for us to be willing to make headway. We’ve won the title, but we must think about what happens next. I hope players understand that. We can’t stop.
