Serhiy REBROV: “We need competition on each position”

- What is the main peculiarity of the current training camp?

- This training camp will be really short. It will last only two weeks. I don’t think it’s bad as a lot of our players finished the last season only a fortnight ago after international matches, so their physical conditions are quite normal. Some performers rested a bit longer. Anyway everyone’s training eagerly.

- Today training exercises look more complex or even intellectual…

- We had them before. We always tell players that first of all they must think on the field. So we have general exercises and special, which make performers render some decisions.

- How come you’ll have so many sparrings?

- We always play many sparrings at training camps. Friendlies let us see game connections between performers and analyze their actions. I think the number of training matches we’ll have is optimal.

- What are players’ physical conditions at the moment?
-
No one has overweight. I’m satisfied with their conditions. Now we should work hard for two weeks.

- Are you satisfied with newcomers and summer transfer campaign?

- These players look promising. We need competition on each position. Newcomers will struggle for starting spot as everybody else. We haven’t got Messi or Ronaldo, but we’ve got performers, who looked worthily in their previous teams.

- What can you say about strengths and weaknesses of Radoslav Petrovic?

- He fulfills a great amount of work on the field. He used to play in England and Turkey. I liked those matches with his participation I watched. I’ve talked to him and realized he’s going to fight for starting spot. He wants to feature for Dynamo.

- Have you invited youngsters to the training camp to increase competition or because you’ve noticed their progress?

- Both factors have played their role. I followed Yahodynskis and Miakushko and saw their progress and willingness to play. At this training camp we’ll play a lot of sparrings, so everyone will get game practice. Other youngsters will get it in reserve team.

- Domagoj Vida is training individually. How serious is his injury?

- Unfortunately he has microtrauma. I hope he’ll be fine in a week.

- Are you going to reach players’ best conditions in autumn or is several weeks when the Ukrainian Super Cup takes place?

- We must pay foundation for the whole season. You can’t be hundred per cent sure you’ll reach best conditions within a fortnight. Not only the Champions League, but all competitions are important to us. We can’t foul up in the UPL first matchdays to get ready for euro cups.

- How important is the Ukrainian Super Cup to you?

- Each tournament is important, but Super Cup is only one game. I guess it’s more like exhibition match before the start of new season. Still every match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk is intense and there will be full house at the stadium. So we’ll try to win.
